Starlight Xpress MX5 CCD

This is a closeup of the optical train as it exits the scope. The JMI Next Generation Focuser (NGFS) is first, followed by the Optec Maxfield focal reducer, and finally the Starlight Xpress MX516 CCD. This CCD has a relatively small (513x372 pixels) chip, which makes it an entry-level CCD camera. However, I have been quite pleased with the results, especially in the last year as I have become more skilled at capturing and manipulating images.
